GurtWurx is the workshop of Caleb Howard, a student athlete and metal artist based in Escondido, California.
What started as curiosity in the shop turned into a passion for turning raw steel into something personal — pieces built to be seen, used, and passed down.Every piece Caleb makes is cut, welded, and finished by hand. No mass production, no shortcuts. Whether it's a custom sign for your home, a sculptural piece for your space, or a one-of-a-kind gift, each project gets the same attention from start to finish.When he isn't in the shop, you'll find him on the field — but the same focus and discipline that goes into competing goes into every weld.

Every GurtWurx piece starts with a conversation. Whether you have a detailed vision or just a rough concept, the process is built to make it easy (Pricing depends on size, materials, and complexity. Custom commissions typically take 2–4 weeks depending on the queue.):
Reach Out — Send a message with your idea, the size you're thinking, and where it'll live.
Design & Quote — Caleb will work with you on the design and give you a clear quote and timeline before anything starts.
Build — Once you approve, your piece gets built by hand in the Escondido shop.
Delivery — Local pickup available in the San Diego area. Shipping available on smaller pieces.
